Much quieter weather pattern developing

Generally cooler and drier conditions are moving in for the next several days.

 

High temperatures today will be mainly in the mid 70s to mid 80s across Montana, with some mid to upper 80s across northern Wyoming. Expect sunshine and a light wind.

 

A few isolated storms will move out of northern Wyoming around Sheridan into Southeast Montana this evening.

 

By Thursday afternoon and evening, a few storms will rumble through the Bighorn mountains and Beartooth range. Otherwise, mainly dry conditions will continue through the end of the week.

 

Temperatures will be slightly warmer on Thursday, with highs 85 to 90. Friday, afternoon high temperatures are on track to be about 10° hotter.

 

Billings forecast:

 

Wednesday… Sunny with a high near 84. Light wind. Some patchy smoke is possible.

 

Wednesday night… Mostly clear with a low around 60.

 

Thursday… Sunny again, with a high about 87.
